Hibs chasing Brazilian midfielder Douglas Rinaldi
Last updated : 18 July 2008 By Steve Forbes
Hibs boss Mixu Paatelainen has joined the race for the signature of Brazilian midfielder Douglas Rinaldi.
The 24-year-old has left Watford by mutual consent and it is believed that Paatelainen is really keen on bringing the player to Easter Road.
Rinaldi joined Watford from Brazilian side Veranpolis in a £250,000 deal after impressing while on loan at the English Championship club, while they played in the English Premiership.
He signed a two-year-deal at Vicarage Road when he joined n 2007, but following his release is now a free agent, meaning no fee would be involved.
Hibs will face stiff competition for his signature with Plymouth Argyle, Birmingham City and Charlton Athletic showing an interest.
Our city neighbours, Hearts, are also thought to be showing an interest in the player.
