Hibs captain James McPake has today urged the club's board to get in-form hitman Leigh Griffiths tied down to the club.
Griffiths, 22, scored another two goals yesterday, had another chopped off, hit the post twice, was handed the man-of-the-match award, and took his tally for the season to 11.
His loan deal with the club will run out in January, and the Hibees captain has urged the hierarchy at Easter Road to act quickly.
McPake said:
"Wolves must have some top strikers if he's not good enough to have a chance. Their loss is definitely going to somebody else's gain - I just hope it's ours.
"If he's going to score those goals it could end up being hard for the club, but I'm sure the club and the chairman (Rod Petrie) will be trying.
"Leigh loves playing for this football club. Is there anybody else in Scotland he'd rather play for? I'm not too sure. If somebody in England takes a gamble on him that's entirely up to Leigh, but Hibs is where his heart is.
"Everybody that plays against him is terrified of him. Every time he gets the ball you're thinking he's going to score. He can do everything.
"He hit the post twice, scored two good goals and he could be walking away with four today. His goals are vital and they were worth the three points."
Griffiths' contract with Wolves run's out this summer, and the Championship club are said to be looking for £150,000 for the former Livingston and Dundee hitman, let's hope Hibs act now, because if LG keeps his form up, we will fnd it very difficult to hold onto him.
