Hibs boss John Hughes - Jonatan Johansson set to leave

Last updated : 25 August 2009 By Steve Forbes

Hibs boss John Hughes has tonight revealed that veteran forward Jonatan Johansson could be on his way out of Easter Road.

The former Rangers and Charlton Ath striker has failed to hold down a regular first team spot since signing in January, and has also failed to find the net since signing.

The 34-year-old Finland international was signed by former Hibs boss Mixu Paatelainen, but has failed to make an impact at Easter Road.

Hughes revealed that Johansson could be leaving, and could be followed by 3 or 4 others, as he still hopes to add another couple of players to the squad.

He said:

"There would have to be three or four leaving the club," said Hughes.

"While the window's still open, maybe they might be better finding themselves another club.

"They're really going to have convince me they're something special to get a game in front of some of the guys that I'm bringing to the club.

"Jonatan is one of them, I have to say, who would possibly come into that category."

A good move by Hughes, Johansson has been a very poor singing indeed.
