Hibs boss John Collins has today backed the club's continual use of the successful youth system.
The Hibees have produced a cracking number of quality players over the last three or four years and Collins hopes it continues.
Steven Fletcher, Scott Brown, Lewis Stevenson, Kevin McCann, Steven Whittaker, Derek Riordan, Ian Murray, Garry O'Connor, Kevin Thomson and Ross Chisholm are just some of the players to have progressed from the youth academy in the last few years and the Hibees boss will continue to use that route to help him find new gems.
The final touches are also being put to the Hibees new £4.5m training facility at East Mains, Tranent and this will also help the club to keep on developing quality youngsters.
Collins said:
"I have a good healthy squad but if we need to add new players then the first place I will always look is in the reserves or youth team.
"That has worked for us in the past and I'd like to think it would do so again. There will come a year when it's not possible but I hope not for a while.
"The young players have done so well for us and shown great character to keep it going."
