Hibs boss John Hughes is eyeing up a double swoop during the January transfer window.
The Hibees have had a number of trialists arriving at the clubs £5m East Mains training facility over the last few months, and Hibernian-Mad understands that two in particular have impressed Hughes.
New Zealand born right back Cole Tinkler, who was at East Mains this week and Icelandic centre half Haraldur Freyr Guðmundsson are both on the Hibees radar.
23-year-old Tinkler has played for New Zealand Knights, Melville United, Tauranga City and Waitakere City, and is yet to gain an international cap, despite being called up to a couple of senior squads.
He did, however, play for the New Zealand U23 side at the Beijing Olympics.
Tinkler is currently with Sengkang-Punggol Football Club, of Singapore.
Iceandic defender Haraldur Freyr Guðmundsson, who was on trial a few months ago, also impressed big Yogi during a closed door, 1-0 win, over Hamilton Accies.
He has apparently been offered a 3-year-deal at Easter Road, despite Hughes being linked with Falkirk centre half Darren Barr.
27-year-old Guðmundsson is a full Icelandic international, and currently plays for hometown club Keflavik, who has also played in Norway and Cyprus.
