Hibs boss Colin Calderwood has today indicated that he is hoping to keep goal machine Derek Riordan at Easter Road. 16 of the Hibees squad are out-of-contract at the end of the season, and Calderwood has revealed that he has already started talks with a couple of players - and is hoping Riordan will sign a new contract. Riordan has scored 6 goals this season, and currently sits on 99 career goals with the Hibees, and Calderwood has revealed he hopes to keep the Scotland forward. He said: “We definitely have to have someone like him at the club. "He's one of the better players, has an influence and is a goalscorer, so you obviously want to keep those types." Calderwood also spoke about the other 15 out-of-contract players, who include Liam Miller and Sol Bamba, he added: "It's something that will be addressed more and more within the next five to six weeks. "It's not tied down in black and white where we are. The players do have the option to go to other clubs and we've got to be aware of that. "The January transfer window is getting very close but it's just normal practice - scouting and recruitment. "We've got to make sure we've got personnel going on that will help us from February onwards, but in reality you really want people who will be here longer than that."
