Hibs boss Alan Stubbs has emerged as a front runner for the vacant Wigan Athletic job.
The former Everton youth coach has become the first boss to be linked with a move to the DW Stadium, after they sacked Malky Mackay.
Hibs No.2 John Doolan only left Wigan in November last year to become Stubbs' assistant at Easter Road, and is said to be highly thought of by new Wigan chairman David Sharpe.
Former Hibs defender Gary Caldwell looks likely to be handed the job on a temporary basis until MacKay can be replaced.
Stubbs only took the reigns at Easter Road in the summer, and despite an inconsistent season, has the Hibees chasing a promotion play-off spot, as well as an up-coming Scottish cup Semi Final with Falkirk at Hampden.
Wigan are currently fighting relegation to League One.
