According to reports in today's press, Hibs boss Alan Stubbs is once again on the trail of Leigh Griffiths.
Hibs tried to land him on a season long loan deal before the transfer window closed on September 1st, but the deal collapsed at the last minute, with the player said to have undergone a medical at East Mains.
If reports are true, Stubbs is considering an audacious "emergency loan" deal for the player, that would see him sign on loan until December 25th.
With Hibs arguing the case that main forward Farid El Alagui has picked up an achilles injury that could keep him out for a year.
That is also despite the Hibees signing Dominique Molonga and Jake Sinclair since El Alagui's injury.
The same report also suggests that if successful, Hibs would then move to either sign Griffiths permanently when the January transfer window opens, or to extend the loan until the end of the season, with a view to a permanent purchase next summer.
Also on the cards, should the emergency loan fail, would be a January loan move.
Fantastic news if true, hopefully the club can push this through. The attendances at Easter Road would definately improve, and so would the Hibees chances of first time promotion back to the Premiership.
