Hibs have today appointed Ross County manager Derek Adams as the new Assistant manager at Easter Road. Adams becomes No.2 to new Hibs boss Colin Calderwood, who was appointed three weeks ago. Calderwood was delighted with the appointment, he said: “It is a terrific appointment and one I think will raise eyebrows in the game. “I didn’t think I would get him but I am delighted. Adams was also delighted, speaking to the club's official website, he said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for me to come to a club of the stature of Hibernian. In particular I'm looking forward to working closely with Colin Calderwood and the talented group of players at the club. A fantastic appointment, and one which will stun a few people, but Calderwood and the club must be applauded for the move. It's also a bit of surprise considering Adams was actually being linked with the Hibs job before Calderwood got it.
“He will be a great addition to the team and when you consider that he has given up a job as a manager, it shows you how keen he is to be at Hibs.”
“I've had three magnificent years at Ross County and leave there with a sense of pride. The club made great progress over that period but it's now time for both Ross County and me to look forward to the next phase. I wish the club every success in the future.”
