Hibs striker Anthony Stokes has today been awarded the SPL Young Player of the Month Award for December.
Stokes has been in superb form as of late, scoring 7 goals in his last 5 games, as the Hibees have enjoyed an excellent first half of the season.
The former Arsenal youngster signed for the Hibees in a deal reported to be in excess of £500,000 from Premiership side Sunderland in the summer, and is top goalscorer at the club, having hit 11 so far this season.
Despite yesterday's narrow 1-0 loss to fellow European hopeful's Dundee Utd, Stokes still feels the Hibees are doing well, speaking to the official Hibernian website, he said:
"We've improved an awful lot as a team at Hibs.
"We've done a lot of good things this season but equally some of the performances haven't been great.
"So we have to buck ourselves up. If we work hard enough and everything clicks then we could give the Old Firm something to think about this term."
