Hibs and Raith Rovers make donation following firefighters death

Hibs and Raith Rovers have made a joint announcement tonight, following the abandonment of last night’s pre-season friendly.

Both clubs have agreed to donate a share of the gate receipts to the Fire-fighters Benevolent Fund, following the death of Edinburgh fireman Ewan Williamson last week.

The brave fire-fighter was tragically killed when the floor collapsed as he tackled a fire at the Balmoral Bar in Dalry, Edinburgh on Sunday 12^th July.

Williamson and his colleagues from the Tollcross Fire Station saved 20 peoples lives, from the flats directly above the bar.

A fantastic gesture from both clubs following a terrible tragedy.
