A couple of interesting stories in today's Sunday tabloids that involve the Hibees.
Hibs U19 Striker Kurtis Byrne has said he is ready to fill the boots of Steven Fletcher should he leave Easter Road.
Blackburn Rovers and Burnley are hot on his trail, with Burnley said to have offered Hibs £2.75m for the Scotland forward.
Byrne said:
"I am not just here to make up the numbers. I will work my socks off to get my chance in pre-season and if it does come I am confident I will take it."
In other tabloid news, the Hibees have been linked with a move for Everton youngster Tom McCready.
The 18-year old can play either right or centre midfield and Hibs boss John Hughes is said to be keeping tabs on the player.
Falkirk have released a number of players, including Hibs targets Dani Mallo and Patrick Cregg.
It is thought Cregg has already had a medical at the Hibees state-of-the-art training facility and has agreed terms on a one-year-deal, but has yet to sign the contract.
Spanish keeper Mallo has revealed that he has already decided what team he will be playing for next season, and that he will make the announcement on July 1st.
"I have decided on my future for next season, but I would prefer to wait until 1st July to make the announcement," said Mallo.
"My good season with Falkirk has relaunched my sporting career and that is very positive for me.
"I am happy I left Sporting Braga to play in Scotland and now I could profit from this chance to improve in all areas.
"The option of Spain is always there, but I do not have a fixed date for my return."
When quizzed about a possible move to Easter Road, Mallo said:
"This is a big club and the coach knows my work, but I do not want to say more."
Hibs could also be heading for a bit of trouble over the cancelled transfer of Youness Bengelloun. The French defender is said to be considering legal action, after new boss John Hughes ripped up his contract at Easter Road.
