Last updated : 01 September 2011 By Steve Forbes

It’s that time of the year again, the summer transfer window has closed, and the madness is over, Hibernian-Mad takes a look at who has left, and who has arrived at Easter Road over the summer, with 18 players leaving, 3 going out on loan and a further 9 signing.

IN:

Ivan Sproule - The Northern Ireland international winger and fans favourite became Colin Calderwood’s first signing of the summer, signing a pre-contract agreement to return to Easter Road from Bristol City.

Garry O’Connor - Another ex player who returned in a blaze of publicity, after singing under freedom of contract, despite having more lucrative options, after his release from Barnsley. The Scotland striker left the Hibees for Lokomotiv Moscow in a £1.6m deal in 2006, and then won a £3m move to then Premiership side Birmingham City in 2008, before a short spell with Barnsley.

Sean O’Hanlon - The 28-year-old centre half signed on a free, after his release from League One side MK Dons.

Isahiah Osbourne - 23-year-old midfielder signed from Premiership side Aston Villa on a free, spent time on loan with Sheffield Wednesday, Middlesbrough and Notts Forest before signing for the Hibees.

Adam Mitter - 19-year-old centre half signed on transfer deadline day from Blackpool, will play for the Hibees Academy side for now.

Ritchie Towell - The 20-year-old signed another loan deal at Easter Road, until the end of the season, from Celtic. Can play right back or in midfield, spent time on loan at the Hibees last season, played 16 games and impressed.

Leigh Griffiths - The exciting 21-year-old, Scotland B international and lifelong Hibby, signed from Wolves on a six month loan deal, his speed and goals should make him an excellent signing for the Hibees.

Phil Airey - Another exciting prospect signed on loan from Premiership side Newcastle United. The 19-year-old Geordie striker is another who should bring speed and goals to the Hibees. Got injured after 1 week and since went back to Newcastle for treatment

Out:

Kevin McBride - The 30-year-old was told in the summer he had no future at Easter Road, signed a short term deal with Raith Rovers, but is currently without a club.

Liam Miller - Left the Hibees on a free transfer, and signed for Australian side Perth Glory.

Edwin De Graaf - 31-year-old Dutch midfielder, who flopped at Easter Road, despite much being expected of him when he arrived last summer from NAC Breda, Is currently still a free agent.

Francis Dickoh - The Ghanaian international left the Hibees after only one year in Leith, after signing from Dutch side FC Utrecht. Has since signed for Greek side Aris Thessaloniki

Derek Riordan - The Hibees goal machine left the club after his second spell at Easter Road, having scored 106 goals for the club. Signed for Chinese side Shaanxi Chanba, on a two-year-deal, worth a staggering £30,000 a week.

Graeme Smith - Hibs boss Colin Calderwood had four goalkeepers to choose from and decided to release two, unfortunately for the former Motherwell, Rangers and Brighton keeper, he was one of them. Won a contract with Gamba FC from Azerbaijan, who are managed by Tony Adams.

Valdas Trakys - Lithuanian striker signed on a free transfer last summer, but struggled with the SPL, failed to score a goal and was released. Has since signed for Greek side Anagennisi Epanomis.

Colin Nish - The big 6ft 3in striker had a horrible last 12 months in Leith, only scoring 1 goal during the whole of last season. The former Killie man was released and has since signed for English League One side Hartlepool United.

Darryl Duffy - The former Rangers and Falkirk striker spent the whole of last season on loan from Bristol Rovers. Broke his foot before even making an appearance in the green and white, and missed most of the first half of the season. He failed to score a single goal for Hibs, and went back to Bristol Rovers in the summer, who released him. Currently with English League Two side Cheltenham Town

Kurtis Byrne - The 20-year-old Irish youngster was released after failing to hold down a first team spot, following his graduation from the youth academy. Much was expected from the player, but was released by Calderwood, has since signed for Ross County

Steven Thicot - The versatile Frenchman, who could play in defence or midfield, never really set the heather on firer at Easter Road, he did manage over 40 first team games, but is another not deemed good enough by Colin Calderwood, Currently still a free agent.

Thomas Flynn - Former U19 goalkeeper failed to make an appearance for the first team, and was released, has since been signed by Cowdenbeath.

Ewan Moyes - Another player who big things were expected of, spent almost two years away from the Hibees on loan with Brechin City and Arbroath to gain first team experience, when the 6ft 3in defender returned, everybody expected him to compete for a first teak slot, but was freed instead. Signed for Blue Square Premier side Gateshead, after spending time on trial with Crewe Alexandra.

Lee Currie - Another product of the Hibees youth side who didn’t quite make the grade, was the first to be shown the door by Calderwood and signed for Division three side Berwick Rangers.

Jakub Divis - The second goalkeeper to be shown the door at Easter Road. Was on a 12 month loan deal so he could be assessed by the Hibees management team, but didn’t do enough and returned to his parent club Tatran Presov after only six months.

Ricardo Vaz Te - A fantastically talented attacking player, who signed a short term deal with the Hibees in January after spending time on trial. Scored against Hearts in a 2-2 derby draw, but spent too much time showboating, which seemed to persuade Colin Calderwood not to offer him a new deal. Released, but has since signed for Championship side Barnsley.

Kevin McCann - Had a horrible last 2-3 years at Easter Road, broke through to the first team under John Collins as a raw 18-year-old, and looked destined for big things, before picking up numerous knee injury’s that stalled his career. Spent time on trial with Inverness Caley before returning, yet again injured, to Easter Road, was released in the summer and has since signed for Morton, will be remembered warmly for being part of the Hibees 2007 cup winning side, and also his 35 yard rocket against Rangers at Easter Road a few years back.

John Rankin - The former Inverness and Ross County player was released after 3 years in the capital. Signed for Dundee Utd under freedom of contract in the summer.

Three youngsters were also loaned out:

Scott Smith - Brechin City
