Hibees - International Round-Up

Last updated : 17 October 2012 By Steve Forbes

Two Hibees were involved in international football tonight, and both of them will be delighted with the outcome.

Jorge Claros played the whole 90 minutes as Honduras destroyed Canada 8-1.

The result, in front of over 38,000 supporters in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, knocked the Canadian's out of World Cup Qualifying contention.

The 26-year-old is currently at Easter Road on loan from Montagua in his homeland until January.

Also representing the Hibees tonight, was on loan Manchester City defender Ryan McGivern.

McGivern picked up his 19th cap as Northern Ireland travelled to Porto to face Portugal.

The 22-year-old also played a full 90 minutes, as the Irish come within 10 minutes of one of the biggest results in their history.

Aberdeen winger Niall McGinn scored for the visitors, before an 81st minute equaliser from Real Zaragoza Helder Postiga denied the Irish.

1-1 was the final scoreline.

Well done to both players.
