Friendly - Hibs 2-1 Bohemians

Hibs defeated Irish side Bohemians at Easter Road tonight, as they played the Dublin side in a mid-season friendly.

The Hibees were facing up to nearly 5 weeks without a game, between playing St Johnstone at the start of March, then Hearts at start the April, but Hibs boss Colin Calderwood was quick to set-up this friendly to give the Hibees some much needed game time.

The Hibees dominated the game from start to finish, and could have racked up an impressive score line has they been more clinical.

Czech keeper Jakub Divis and new signing Ricardo Vaz Te both started there first games for the club, with Divis making his debut.

Hibs took the lead in the 38th minute through January signing Martin Scott, after a pass from Derek Riordan and smashed the ball home from close range.

Five minutes later and it was 2-0 to the cabbage, with Irishman Liam Miller scoring an exquisite goal, running through on the Bohs keeper Murphy, from a Scott pass, before chipping the ball over the keeper and into the net.

Hibs made a number of changes at the break, which included both youngsters Scott Smith and Scott Taggart getting their chance.

The second half wasn’t quite as entertaining as the first, but the Hibees remained very much on top.

Bohemians managed to pull a goal back against the run of play however, with a hotly disputed penalty, when Ian Murray was judged to have pulled down Bohs striker O’Brien.

O’Brien picked himself up and dispatched the penalty; to give the final score line a more flattering look.
