Former Hibs youngster Sean Lynch has today signed for John Hughes at Falkirk.

The 21-year-old was released by Hibs boss Mixu Paatelainen over the summer and had been on the lookout for a new club.

Falkirk manager and ex Hibs captain Hughes has moved to snap up the Scotland U20 internationalist on an 18-month-deal after a successful trial spell at the Bairns, in which he impressed in a couple of reserve games.

Hughes was delighted with his capture and told the official Falkirk website:

"Sean is a player I have admired for some time now.

"He is very fit, technically good and is a great passer of the ball and fits into the age group of players here."

Lynch, 21, played for the Hibees first team on five occasions, he made his first team debut against Aberdeen at Pittodrie as a Hibs side made up of mainly youth player's held the Dons to a 2-2 draw, but couldn't hold down a regular place in the team.

He also spent some time on loan at first division side St Johnstone last season but was injured in his first game and returned to Easter Road. He has been capped at Scotland U19 and U20 level and was part of the Scotland squad at last summer's U20 World Cup in Canada.

He also joins Northern Ireland U21 international Dermot McCaffrey at the Falkirk Stadium, another ex Hibs youth player, who was also released by Paatelainen this summer and signed for the Bairns in a three-year-deal.

Good luck Sean from everyone at Hibernian-Mad.
