According to some of today’s tabloids, Hibs boss Colin Calderwood has told young defender Ewan Moyes that he can leave the club. Moyes, 20, is currently on loan at second division side Brechin City, and according to reports has excelled with the club. The 6ft 2in centre half has spent the last two seasons out on loan, firstly with Arbroath last season, and his current loan with Brechin. He recently played for the Hedgemen in the Scottish Cup Quarter Final against St Johnstone, and many believed he would come back to Easter Road and challenge for a first team slot. Moyes was part of the Hibees treble winning U19 side from two seasons ago, but according to the press Calderwood has told him his contract won’t be renewed in the summer, as he continues to reshape the squad at Easter Road. As of yet, there is no official conformation coming out of club, but this news can be seen as somewhat of a surprise, for a player who was highly thought of at Easter Road. Hibs-Mad would like to wish Ewan all the very best for the future.
