Combe & Holden set for Hibs roles

Hibs are expected to announce a double appointment to the backroom staff in the next week.

Alan Combe has agreed a deal to become the new goalkeeping coach at Easter Road.

The former Killie and Dundee Utd keeper (and die-hard Hibby) had the same role at Hearts last season, but was let go from Tynecastle at the end of the season.

Combe took the goalkeeping warm-up at yesterday's 0-4 pre-season win at Berwick Rangers, and his official appointment is expected in the next few days.

Another appointment that seems to be on the verge of being announced is that former Everton coach Andy Holden is to be added to the coaching team.

Holden was tipped to land the first team coach role at Easter Road last week, only for John Doolan to be announced.

However, it now looks like Holden will be added to the coaching team this week coming, possibly as Head Coach Alan Stubbs' assistant.

Holden has been helping out at training at East Mains in the last week or so and was in the dugout at Berwick yesterday.
