Carlisle United defender Danny Livesey has today refuted claims that the Hibees had put a bid in for him.

There has been rumours flying about down
Carlisle way that Hibs boss Mixu Paatelainen had tabled a bid in the region of £350,000 for the former Bolton Wanderers centre half and that the player had put in a transfer request at Blundell Park, but the player has today denied these rumours.

The
Carlisle captain said:

"Apparently it's all over the internet but if someone has come in for me then it's the first I've heard of it.

"I haven't put in a transfer request - that's absolute nonsense. With the takeover, people are putting two and two together, coming up with five and saying the players aren't happy.

"We are under contract at Carlisle and happy to be here. If someone offers something the club can't refuse, it's up to Carlisle to decide whether they want to sell me.

"But I'm under contract, as are a lot of the lads, and that's all there is to it."

Hibs boss Paatelainen has been keeping his cards close to his chest, but it seems Livesey is NOT a target.

There is also a rumour doing the rounds about a possible Hibs move for Hearts forward Juho Makela, first revealed by us on our messageboard last week, the Finnish international is currently out on loan from Hearts to his former side HJK.

The silly season has well and truly started!!
