It has been revealed that Hibs defender Sol Bamba has been targeted by Premiership side Blackburn Rovers.

Rovers boss Sam Allardyce sent a couple of scouts to spy on Bamba during the Hibees two opening games of the season, against St Mirren at Easter Road last week and Falkirk away on Saturday past.

He scored his first goal for Hibs, and his first in Scottish football, during the 3-1 weekend win over Falkirk.

Only days ago the 6ft 3in Ivory Coast centre half revealed that his agent had told him that Liverpool, as well as French sides Lorient and Grenoble.

It now seems Blackburn could be about to enter the race for the players signature, with the Rovers scouts said to have been impressed by the big centre half.

Bamba signed for the Hibees for a bargain £50,000, from 1st division side Dunfermline Athletic, 12 months ago.
