Hibs under 19’s attempt to retain the Insel Cup, one of Europe’s prestigious youth tournaments, was unsuccessful but they are coming home with their heads still held high after an opening 1-0 win against host club 'Ilvesheim', Steven Fletcher netting in the first half, but 2-1 losses against ‘F.C. Mainz’ and then South African outfit ‘Jomo Cosmos’ were enough to stop them progressing past the group stage.
Last year the Easter Road youngsters were the First Scottish club in the 50 year history of the invitation only Insel Cup to win it.
